WORKING APPROACH

Process
A good design starts with an inventarisation of the client’s wishes, the garden and its context. On this basis I make a quotation. The costs of a design depend on the size of the garden, the complexity of the commission, etc. After agreement I make two or more draft designs. The following step is a more elaborated garden design, with detailed plans for planting and paving etc. After discussion and agreement I make the final design.

Result
The result is a description of the design, including all the planting and hard materials, dimensions and, if necessary, completed with cross sections and elaborations of parts of the garden, plus a separate check list for all the planting (names and numbers). The commissioner receives one full colour copy and three copies in black and white to hand out to gardeners for quotations.

Construction
When the design is being constructed by a gardener I discuss it with him in advance. During construction I come along as often as necessary, at least two times. And of course I’m there when the work is done and the garden being delivered.

Plans for parts of a garden

Apart from complete garden designs, I also make plans for parts of a garden, for example for planting or a design for an adjustment for a part of a garden.
