Green oasis
In my view, a well designed garden is a green oasis, which is connected to the house and its surroundings in a logical and natural way; which gives you a feeling of timelessness and which surprises you again and again in a pleasant way. The planting in all its growing and flowering aspects, and its variation throughout the seasons is essential: without planting no garden.
 
Tailor made
The garden design is being developed in close cooperation with the commissioners, based on their wishes, and based on the architecture and interior of the house, the context of the garden (setting and views) and plant conditions (soil, light and water).
My design style adds an extra dimension to the garden design: a clear, modest structure, combined with a contrasting, luxuriant planting. The paving and other hard materials match the atmosphere and character of the house, its owners and the surroundings of the garden. Surprise is created by an unexpected view or a sudden pleasant scent. When possible I create a circular walk through the garden: the changing views on the house, garden and surroundings create variation and the garden seems bigger than it really is.

The result is a unique, tailor made garden, in which the owner feels at home, and happy.
